Financing Used Car

How do I go about financing a used car?

I need about $7000 and I have poor credit due to a family member screwing me over. What do I do? Can I still get liability insurance on a used car or do I have to have full coverage like a new car? How much does insurance cost on a used vehicle? Do I HAVE to have full coverage or can I just get by with liability??

  1. Talk directly to a dealer. They may be able to finance you, although their percentage rate won't be cheap...but it may be the only way. Forget the banks, pack of wankers.
  2. if you take out a loan on the car, you will need full coverage. In most states anyway.
  3. It depends on the year, make, model, etc. If your credit is bad, then your chances are decreased- but you can try to get a loan from your bank. Or, if you don't have a bank, go to any bank, and fill out an application for a loan. I know, it sucks @ss- but it's probably your best bet. Gather up all the pertinent information about the car- the make, model, year, mileage, options, etc. Have the car checked by a mechanic first, so that you know it's reliable. Check Kelly Blue Book, and Auto trader.com, and see if other cars similar to it are selling for that price, so that you know you aren't getting ripped off. If you have a job, then most likely, you can find a bank or lender that will give you the seven grand to purchase the car. But, you will have to have collateral- if the car is a late model, it might qualify as collateral. Or, if you own property, or a home, etc, it may be used as collateral. But first, you need to fill out a few applications, and see if they will approve you. You'll have to pay the bank back of course (duh)- plus interest. Good luck. You will need full coverage if you choose to finance the car this way.
